We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Sous Chef
Location: Obanikoro & Lekki, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time


Job Summary

* We are seeking an experienced and passionate Sous Chef to support the Head Chef in overseeing the daily operations of our kitchen.
* The ideal candidate is a strong leader with a deep understanding of food preparation, kitchen safety, and high-volume cooking.
* You will play a key role in supervising kitchen staff, ensuring food quality, and maintaining high culinary standards.


Key Responsibilities

* Assist the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations and supervising staff.
* Lead the kitchen team in the Head Chef’s absence, ensuring smooth service.
* Oversee food preparation, cooking, plating, and presentation to maintain consistency.
* Monitor and maintain inventory levels, ordering supplies as needed.
* Enforce food hygiene and sanitation standards in compliance with health regulations.
* Conduct regular checks on equipment and kitchen facilities to ensure functionality and safety.
* Participate in menu planning, cost control, and recipe development.
* Train, mentor, and evaluate kitchen staff to promote growth and performance.
* Ensure that food is prepared on time and in accordance with company standards.
* Support in managing kitchen schedules and delegating tasks efficiently.


Requirements

* Culinary degree or certification from a recognized institution is an added advantage.
* Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Line Cook in a professional kitchen.
* Strong knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
* Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
* In-depth understanding of food safety and kitchen hygiene practices.
* Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends, holidays, and evenings.
