Job Title: Perioperative Nurse
Location: Lekki, Lagos


Job Overview

* We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Perioperative Nurse to join our surgical team.
* This role is essential in ensuring safe, sterile, and efficient surgical procedures—before, during, and after operations.


Key Responsibilities

* Prepare the operating theatre and instruments prior to surgical procedures.
* Assist the surgical team during operations by passing instruments, maintaining a sterile environment, and monitoring the patient’s condition.
* Provide comprehensive preoperative and postoperative nursing care.
* Ensure all surgical instruments and equipment are cleaned, sterilized, and properly maintained.
* Monitor inventory of surgical supplies and communicate shortages to appropriate departments.
* Maintain detailed and accurate surgical and patient records in line with hospital protocols.
* Educate and counsel patients and their families about procedures, recovery, and post-op care.
* Adhere strictly to infection control, safety, and quality assurance policies.
* Collaborate with surgeons, anaesthetists, and other healthcare staff to ensure smooth operation flow.
* Respond swiftly and appropriately to surgical emergencies or complications.


Qualifications & Requirements

* Registered Nurse (RN) qualification from an accredited institution.
* Post-basic certification in Perioperative Nursing (mandatory).
* Valid practicing license with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN).
* Minimum of 3 years perioperative nursing experience in a recognized hospital or surgical facility.
* In-depth knowledge of operating theatre procedures, infection control, and patient safety standards.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Excellent problem-solving abilities and critical thinking under pressure.
* Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
* High attention to detail and organizational skills.
* Hold a valid perioperative nursing license, and demonstrate excellence in patient care, surgical support, and teamwork.
