Job Title: School Nurse (Retired Nurse)

Job Brief

* As a School Nurse, you will be responsible for assessing and managing the health needs of students, providing first aid and medical care, and promoting health education and prevention programs within the school community. Your role is essential in ensuring the well-being and safety of students and staff.


Responsibilities

* Provide direct nursing care to students and staff as needed, including first aid, medication administration, and emergency response.
* Assess and manage acute and chronic health conditions of students, such as allergies, asthma, diabetes, and injuries.
* Develop and implement individualized health plans and care protocols for students with special medical needs.
* Conduct health screenings, assessments, and immunization reviews to promote early detection and prevention of health issues.
* Educate students, families, and staff about health-related topics, including nutrition, hygiene, safety, and disease prevention.
* Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and counselors to address health-related concerns and promote a healthy school environment.
* Maintain accurate and confidential health records for students, including documentation of assessments, treatments, and communications.
* Serve as a liaison between the school, families, healthcare providers, and community resources to facilitate access to healthcare services.
* Participate in the development and implementation of school wellness policies and initiatives.
* Respond to medical emergencies and crisis situations, providing immediate care and coordinating with emergency services as needed.
* Stay informed about current nursing practices, regulations, and standards of care relevant to school nursing.
* Conduct health promotion activities, such as health fairs, wellness workshops, and parent education sessions.
* Collaborate with local health departments and agencies to promote public health initiatives and vaccination programs.
* Provide guidance and support to school staff on health-related matters, including infection control, medication management, and safety protocols.
* Serve as an advocate for student health and wellness within the school and broader community.


Qualifications
Qualification in any of the following is accepted:

* Interested and qualified candidates should possess a registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice with 2 - 5 years work experience.
* Nursing Apprenticeship.
* ND in Healthcare Technician.


Salary
N50,000 - N70,000 per month.
