Sundry Foods Limited has awarded scholarships worth N250,000 annually to undergraduate students from its host communities across the country.

According to a statement, SFL Executive Director Nnamdi Opara disclosed this during the presentation of the scholarships to beneficiaries at the company’s corporate headquarters in Port Harcourt.

SFL is a Nigerian-owned food services company based in Port Harcourt.

Opara said the initiative is part of SFL’s education intervention scheme for indigenous students from host communities impacted by the company’s operations, in line with its corporate social responsibility policy.

“This award was instituted by the company as part of SFL’s education intervention initiative for indigenous students of host communities impacted by its businesses,” he stated.

The SFL executive director explained that each beneficiary would receive N250,000 per academic session for four years.

“Education is the passport to an outstanding future for the youths of our country, and that is why our organisation seeks to reward and support exceptional undergraduate students, especially the indigenous from amongst our host communities, who have demonstrated academic excellence and good character in their chosen course of study,” Opara added.

He noted that the scholarship had become an annual event to support host communities’ educational advancement and ensure they are well-positioned in national development.

He urged the beneficiaries to remain committed to their academics and to pursue excellence, stating, “Continue to work hard at your studies, strive to achieve excellence in all that you do, and never stop giving your best.”
